During the spring and summer of 2019, McElhinney explored the Rio Grande from Dunn\u2019s Bridge near Arroyo Hondo, to Kuaua Pueblo near Bernalillo, New Mexico. His <em>Grand River Sketchbook<\/em> and related works were exhibited in<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mcelhinneyart.com\/reimagining-new-mexico-june-28-august-3-2019-gerald-peters-gallery-santa-fe\/\"><em> Reimagining New Mexico<\/em><\/a> at<a href=\"https:\/\/gallery.gpgallery.com\/artist\/james-mcelhinney\/\"> Gerald Peters Gallery<\/a> in Santa Fe.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1367 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.needlewatcher.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Praxis-2-1.jpg?resize=688%2C926&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"688\" height=\"926\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Works from his Schuylkill River Sketchbook project<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mcelhinneyart.com\/schuylkill-river-champions\/\"><em> O.T.W. The Schuylkill River<\/em><\/a> were exhibited at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.phillyseaport.org\">Independence Seaport Museum<\/a> in Philadelphia from October 24, 2018. Works from McElhinney\u2019s Hudson River Sketchbook were the focus of the exhibition <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mcelhinneyart.com\/james-mcelhinney-discover-hudson-anew\/\"><em>James McElhinney: Discover the Hudson Anew<\/em><\/a> at Hudson River Museum. McElhinney had been intrigued by the ribbon-closure he had seen\u00a0 on a Sophia Calle limited edition in the back-room of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buchhandlung-walther-koenig.de\/koenig2\/index.php?mode=start\">Buchhandlung Walther K\u00f6nig<\/a> in Berlin.
